    "Great place near Rome!"

5 stars (or more) host! Spectacular view from the location.

The house is beautifully situated in the countryside with a fabulous view of the area . Eva and Georgio are very friendly hosts with great knowledge when it comes to tips for day trips in the area, or perfect restaurants to dine . The property is fully equipped ; and also wheelchair accessible. Recommended!

"Perfect base for Rome and beyond!"

This is a lovely place to stay when wanting to explore the culture of Rome but also the tranquility and beauty of the countryside and villages around the area. Eva and Giorgio were the perfect hosts, very friendly but also leaving us to enjoy our holiday. We turned up very late and they had thoughtfully got us some food essentials in so we could have something to eat and drink that night and in the morning- Eva had even baked us a delicious apple tart! Amazing! The apartment has everything you would need for a relaxing stay and Giorgio lent us his bikes so we could take a ride around the area too. Highly recommended!

"Could not be better!

I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for beautiful, peaceful surroundings within fairly easy reach of Rome. We had a wonderful holiday here. The apartment is perfect - spacious, bright, comfortable, with everything you could want. The private terrace is brilliant for relaxing, sunbathing and eating out, and although it was too early in the year for the pool, it looked inviting! The hosts are really lovely, so helpful and kind. As for the area, there are so many interesting places to visit and in general we found people to be very friendly and the prices surprisingly reasonable. So long as you have a car for exploring, you will have a great holiday.

"A home from home"

From the moment we arrived Eva & Georgio made us feel welcome and at home. Throughout our stay they were always at hand to help but never invasive . The apartment is well equipped, spacious, warm and cosy. Set in the most stunning of locations with amazing views from the veranda. Within 40 minute of Rome by car (an hour from Ciampino airport), 10 minutes from lake Bracciano, with scores of good quality restaurants ('La Botte Piena' being one of the best, serving high quality food, with excellent service and very reasonable prices).

I would gladly recommend Sellanraa in Italy to anyone wanting a little 'home from home' with warm, genuine hosts. 10 out of 10.

"Fabulous location ..."

... wonderful holiday we're already thinking of going back! The apartment was in an attractive split level house set on a hillside in beautiful gardens with views over an Italian valley. Seating and loungers were provided to enjoy the tranquility. The interior of the 3 roomed apartment was spacious, spotless and modern. Little extras like tea towels , condiments , tea and coffee as well as flowers on the table were there when we arrived. Rome is only a 30 minute train journey away .. not too difficult .. if you don't speak Italian just ask someone .. we did ..and when you reach the station , the Vatican city is only a 10 minute walk away.Hop on Hop off tour buses park down the street and will take you to most of the major sights ... Awesome ! It was easy to do and not to be missed but for a first time, we loved the local area so much that we spent most of the week near the lakes or chilling with a glass of wine in the gardens. Our hosts Eva and Giorgio were always friendly and helpful and although on site, never intrusive ...

We have just arrived from a wonderful holiday in Italy. We had the pleasure of staying at Sellanraa in Italy and the apartment is absolutely fabulous: clean, very stylishly decorated, well furnished, with a deck, yard and swimming pool, a pergola with a barbecue and to top it all off, there are wonderful pastoral views of the countryside. Nearby, there are many interesting places to visit and if you have a penchant for speed then you can indulge yourself and assist to a practice run of the Ferrari formula one team at a race track just a few kilometers away. If you are a little frazzled with the driving, then you can just park your car at the train station in the next village and make your way to Rome via the train for the modest sum of 1.5 Euro. The hosts Eva and Giorgio are so welcoming and helpful you will find it hard to leave. They make you feel that you are family. They also double as your private travel agents and do everything possible to take all the hiccups and inconveniences out of your trip. This apartment is more appropriate for families because to access the washroom one must cross the master bedroom. This can be a bit awkward at night. I would definitely give a thumb’s up to this accommodation and believe me it is well worth the detour. Denise, Wilhemina and David

“Our second visit did not disappoint”

The apartment is excellent, the views wonderful and the hosts most welcoming. There is so much to do in Rome and the area surrounding the house.

“Amazing views and spacious villa”

We really enjoyed our holiday here, Eva and Giorgio were great hosts very kind and helpful but also discrete. The villa has a large outside covered seating area with amazing views over the valley.
Nearby is the small lake which is nice for a day of sunbathing and worth visiting.
I would not hesitate to recomend this villa to anyone but you will certainly need a car to get around.
Overall a brilliant place to relax with friends and family in a beatiful location.

"Sellanraa ~ Shangri-La ~ Paradise"

Fantastic property in beautiful, peaceful location with extensive views over the surrounding countryside. Easy access to Rome on train from Cesano only €1.50 each way! Local area around Lake Bracciano also picturesque with lovely historic towns and lakeside beaches, restaurants etc.
Eva and Giorgio excellent hosts. Made us feel very welcome and were very helpful and knowledgable about getting around and places to visit.

“Highly recommended”

We had a a wonderful 8 night stay here with our 2 teenage sons. The accommodation was exactly like the pictures. A wonderful tranquil setting which was perfect for relaxing after a busy day sightseeing. Eva and her husband could not have been better hosts, we were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend staying here!

"Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!"

I cannot speak highly enough of the apartment at Sellanraa (We stayed in apt Due). From the moment we arrived Eva and Georgio were amazing! So friendly, so knowledgeable but also not at all invasive! I would recommend this villa for couples, families, singles...anyone! If you want to explore Italy and get a taste for 'real' Italy then this is your place! 40 minutes on the train to Rome, 45 minutes to the most vibrant beach I have ever seen in Europe and only ever a few minutes drives to some amazing historical sites! At the villa itself you can enjoy the BBQ with its herb garden...seriously, amazing smells and you can use the herbs in your cooking! There is also a lovely pool on site which is fabulous after long days in the Italian heat! Sheila the Dog will pop over to say hi and be wonderfully cute! Eva and Georgio, thank you for the bottom of our hearts for a wonderful holiday, made perfect by your 'extra mile' hospitality. Heather, Scott, Christopher and Robyn

Excellent host Eva is extremely welcoming. Apartment is well equipped and spacious and views and grounds are fantastic. Lovely little pool which helped us to cool off as the weather in Oct was very warm. Ten minutes car drive to nearby Cesano and onto train for 1 euro each, straight into centre of Rome...superb. Wifi always on so teenager happy. I would stay again and October is great for visiting Italy as it is less crowded and hot than in the summer.“

Rural luxury near Rome

A beautiful location in a rural part of Lazio. Easy to get to from Rome (straight up the SS2 bis) but it feels a million miles away. The apartment we stayed in (sleeps 2) was very spacious which gave it a real luxury feel we weren't expecting. The big balcony has a table for alfresco dining (essential in summer) where you can watch the beautiful sunsets over farms and forest. The pool is small, but perfect for cooling off (late August temps were sometimes over 40C).
Best of all the hosts Eva and Giorgio are lovely. They never imposed, but were always happy to chat, suggest places to visit (Eva is a keen historian), and help out with any problems. We arrived with a big problem – our rental car had broken down. They not only lent us their phone, but also helped us get to the shops for our groceries, and gave us a lift to the station so we could get our replacement car from Rome (the nearest Sixt location).
We stayed in two other tripadvisor recommended locations – they were good, but this was the highlight of our stay. We almost wished we had spent the whole time there.
If you're using google maps to navigate, here's the location: Sellanraa
p.s. It's nice to find essentials like salt, oil, tea and coffee provided in a self-catering apartment. And a dishwasher

Have it all: Charming rural contrast to the bustle of Rome

We spent a very agreeable week in this charming appartment, situated on a calm and breezy hilltop in the countryside, less than an hour's drive from Rome. It was a wonderful contrast to hectic days in and around Rome: Reclining in these peaceful surroundings, with beautiful vistas, relaxing in the pool, and evenings in the garden, at the barbecue or with a glass of wine watching the starry evening sky. Our hosts were charming, knowledgeable and helpful, and also offered local guided tours which gave us access to some unexpected and less known beautiful and historic places, Etruscan history and more. We very much recommend a stay at Eva and Giorgio's in la Strada del Casalino!

Great place to see rome and the surrounding countryside.
Great place to see Rome and the surrounding countryside." Great location to be able to explore Rome, could be in the centre in 40 mins, but still be out in the cooler more relaxed countryside. Very relaxed and friendly hosts. Would definitly go again.

The apartment was modern, very clean and comfortable. Furniture was also comfortable. Parking was also very convenient. The location was excellent. It is very convenient to Rome and a wonderful place to return to after a busy day of sightseeing in Rome. The view from the back yard was exceptional. Eva and Georgio were wonderful hosts and went far beyond what was expected to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They were eager to share their knowledge of the area and we saw wonderful sights we would not have seen otherwise. We would recommend this apartment to anyone without reservation. We hope someday to return."

Peaceful, beautiful and a great location for seeing Rome and the surrounding countryside.
We had a wonderful holiday at Sellanraa, the owners are friendly and helpful, the apartment is lovely and the garden is beautiful. This is a great place to stay if you want to get into Rome easily for day trips but want the peace of the country side, there is a local train into Rome that only costs one euro and takes about 30 minutes. We visited the beautiful and amazing village of Calcata, also Trevengnano is local and worth a visit, it's a small town on lake Bracciano, visit the Pasticceria Marconi for superb patisserie, coffee and icecream. The apartment and garden was also a great place to relax , read a book, look at the views, on a sunny day when we didn't want to go out. It was a perfect place to take our children.

We wanted to visit Rome but didn't want the bustle and noise of central Rome so found this exquisite property in North Rome. It is within the National Nature Reserve and very near to the beautiful lakes. The property itself was faultless and we were surrounded by open countryside. We had the use of a swimming pool and barbecue. The owners of the property,Eva and Giorgio, went beyond what was expected-they were wonderful and made sure our visit was memorable. The area is breathtaking! Calcatta, Trevignano, Sutri and Viterbo must be visited. We visited many places-all steeped in history. We used the train to get to central Rome for the day which was cheap and so easy. It took half an hour by rail. We highly recommend this property and we hope to return some day soon.

We stayed at the “Sellanraa in Italy” for an oval weekend eNd. The apartment was new and situated in a large Villa. Situated at a hilltop the apartment offered a wonderful terrazzo with magnificent view of the tranquil landscape. It was a splendid starting point for excursions to Rome or some of the countless historic sites in the area. After a busy day in Rome we enjoyed a very romantic “sundowner” at the terrazzo before making our diner at the barbeque. Eva, the owner, was aformer travel guide and gave us good advice on hidden gems in the area. We certainly will come back to this splendid place and have already recommended it to a number of friends. But you will need a car!

The appartment is excellent (very clean and cool, extremely well-equipped), the location extremely beautiful with wonderful views and it is very easy and cheap (1 euro single) to travel by train to Rome. Eva and Giorgio are very generous hosts and we would definitely return.

Stayed at the beginning of April with my husband and one year old son. The accommodation was of a very high standard and very tastefully decorated- everything had been thought of! The owner was extremely welcoming and helped us to make the most of the sights in the area. A car is essential for maximum freedom to explore.

There is a pool too but it was too cold at this time of year for swimming but I can imagine it would be wonderful slightly later in the season.

we stayed in this lovely self catering appartment, which was orrigionally part of the owners house.beautifully set in stunning italian countryside.away from it all but just a 20 to 30 minute drive north of rome.a 10 minute drive from glorious lake bracciano, which we swam in as often as we could.the appartment was immaculately clean and the owners hospitality was much appreciated.air con would have been a bonus, given the heatwave italy were havingat the time ,but it in no way took from our holiday.Sellenraa in Italy is a great base for exploring Rome and if you like a busy holiday like us you can easily get to see Florence, tuscany with its stunning scenery and amazing hilltop towns. And trevignano, anguillara and bracciano which are each beautifully situated on the edge of lake Braccianno.we had a hire car which was a must to get around from this location.the driving was pretty hairy at times but so worth it. a beautiful appartment for a beautiful holiday..

Eva and Giorgio are excellent hosts-they live right next door, always around to help in any way and in the same time very discrete. The apartment is really cozy and smartly furnished, makes you feel like home. The veranda is also a big plus, with its wonderful views to the countryside, so relaxing and peacefull!
The only thing we could not figure out was the recycling of the waste, dispite the very thorough directions we found in the apartment. But this is definately not Eva's fault! :-)

Sunset love.
